We, therefore, do our best to ensure that the environment we operate in is unharmed by our activities and the ecological balance of our biosphere is minimized. Our products & estates confirm multiple internationally recognized certification standards.

• Organic  
  • The USDA has established the standards, processes and enforcement procedures that govern the right to sell, label and represent products as organic. 122 hectares(approx. 300 acres) of our tea gardens are certified Fully Organic, under NPOP, NOP technical standards (USA) and USDA Organic by IMO Control Pvt. Ltd.
  • Above mentioned KDHP Plantations are USDA Organic Standards approved since the year 1998.

 

• Rainforest Alliance
  • The Rainforest Alliance is built on and encompasses all three pillars of sustainability—social, economic, and environmental.
  • The Standard is built on these important principles of sustainable farming:
    • Biodiversity conservation
    • Improved livelihoods and human well-being
    • Natural resource conservation
    • Effective planning and farm management systems
  • It sets standards for sustainability to conserve wildlife, wetlands & promote the well- being of workers & their communities.
  • KDHP plantations are Rainforest Alliance approved since the year 2013.

 

• FSSAI and ISO 22000
  • ISO 22000:2018 sets out the requirements for a food safety management system and can be certified to. It maps out what an organization needs to do to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe for consumption.
  • FSSAI lays down science-based standards for articles of food, regulates the manufacture, storage, distribution, import and sale of food and facilitates the safety of food for final consumption
  • 8 KDHP factories are FSSAI and ISO 22000 approved.

 

• Fairtrade
  • Fairtrade certification is a product certification system where social, economic and environmental aspects of production are certified against Fairtrade Standards for Producers and Traders.
  • Being Fairtrade certified shows that fairness runs right through our daily operations. It signifies the organisation meeting the social, economic and environmental standards set out by Fairtrade International, ensuring employee wellbeing, fair wages, safe living conditions and sustainable sourcing.
  • KDHP products are Fairtrade approved since the year 2009.

 

• Trustea
  • Trustea is an Indian sustainability code and verification system for the tea sector at par with a world-class sustainability code of conduct.
  • The Code is working with smallholder tea growers, bought leaf factories, estates and packers to address some of the key challenges in the industry including working conditions, health and safety of workers, gender issues, water pollution, food safety, soil erosion and contamination.
  • KDHP Teas are Trustea approved since the year 2014.

 

• Elephant approved Certified Tea Garden
  • When you see the Elephant Approved® label, you can be assured that the tea you are drinking has been grown by a tea garden that prioritizes elephant welfare and sustainable agriculture.
  • Elephant Approved® works with tea gardens that demonstrate high elephant activity in order to develop strategies to properly mitigate Human Elephant Conflict (HEC). Approved gardens practice outstanding and elephant-friendly methods of agricultural production through a certification program that verifies their adherence to a rigorous set of standards.
