Brew yourself a cup of Beau‘Tea’

While tea is synonymous with long chats with friends and family, relaxation and lots of fun, the health benefits of tea cannot be ignored. Teas are known to have anti-bacterial properties, reduce bad cholesterol, lower the risk of heart disease, reduce stress and even assures you a good night’s sleep. But, did you know that tea can be an excellent beauty agent as well? You can drink it, apply it to your skin, or even use the extracts!

Here are some ways you can use tea to beau‘tea’fy yourself:

Eyes

Do you have a used bag of your favourite Ripple Tea lying around? Do not toss it out! It forms the ingredient for an affordable, natural and easy-to-do puffy eye treatment. The caffeine in the tea which contains natural tannins helps to shrink blood vessels underneath the skin and eliminate dark circles around the eyes. It is a mild diuretic and is an age old recipe for puffy eyes. Firstly, soak two Ripple tea bags in warm water. Squeeze the excess water out and then chill the bags for a few minutes in the refrigerator. Place one tea bag on each closed eye for five to ten minutes. Your eyes will immediately feel fresh.

Feet

Smelly feet anyone? Well, worry not! Tea is the answer. Soaking your feet in a cool solution made out of boiled tea can work wonders. Tea contains tannins which is not only antibacterial but also antifungal. A little teatime for your feet can stop them from sweating and smelling to a large extent.

Hair

Tea is that chemical-free alternative to dyeing your hair that you have always been looking for. Its staining properties add colour to hair. It also gives that much needed shine to dull, lacklustre hair. Rinse your hair using Ripple Green or black tea to give your hair a boost. All you need to do is steep tea bags (or leaves) in boiling water for 15 minutes and allow it to cool. If you can keep it overnight, do that. Then pour the liquid (strain it if you are using leaves) onto freshly-washed hair and leave on for about ten minutes. Shampoo and condition afterwards so that the shine is sealed!

Skin

Tea is packed with a host of vitamins, amino acids, and catechins that work holistically to slow aging, stimulate collagen production, reduce body fat, and maintain healthy skin cells. Applying some cool Ripple green tea onto your face will tone and moisturize your skin. It draws out impurities, shrinks large pores and gives you a healthy glow. Pressing a cool black Ripple tea bag onto your skin will provide you immediate relief from burns, bites and even sun burns. The polyphenols in tea not only keeps your skin hydrated but also reverses the effects of UV damage.
